Lavington Fete - June 10th 2000
Once again, the church fete was able to make use of the grounds of Cliffe Hall and once again the weather was kind. Queues gathered outside the hall before the start.

This year, the fete had a balloon theme and, indeed, a hot air balloon was tethered there as a backdrop to the proceedings.

The hot air balloon is fully up but still needs a burst of heat to keep stable.

A big attraction was the presence of round the world balloonist, Brian Jones who comes from the neighbouring village of Erlestoke. Brian was there to talk to people about his adventure on the orbiter.

But there were still old attractions - including the boats on the lake.

And the crowds enjoyed the side shows as well.
