The London Eye
I'm a confirmed countryside lover, but I have to admit that the London Eye is brilliant. We tend to knock our efforts in this country, but I congratulate all those who had any part in designing and realising this structure. It is fantastic - so smooth and easy with not a hint of scariness, yet with fantastic views. As my niece might say, 'Oh wow!'
Credit where due. Find out more about the eye on the official web site
I took a family party on the London Eye as a birthday treat for my wife. It was August bank holiday Saturday in the year 2000. The weather was really rather shaky but it was still a great experience.
There's even a chance to see some of my family in this photograph collection.
But let's look at some views first.
The Palace of Westminster with the old Battersea Power Station beyond

Buckingham Palace

Embankment Place which I tend to call Charing Cross station - complete with trains

And a distant view of the famous Millennium Dome

This picture, won me a first prize at my village produce show!

Now for some people…
Half brother and nephew in the well organised and fast moving queue

Son and girlfriend in our capsule

Daughter and boyfriend

Brother in law and sister

And finally my wife and me!
