Peter Greed's Dream
In the early 1950s, Peter Greed was a school boy at Devizes Grammar School. 1954 must have had a dry spring for Peter decided that he could see the shape of the old Devizes Horse - 109 years after it had first been cut. Not only did Peter see the shape, he used his technical drawing skills to produce a 'blue print'. Even more amazingly, Peter's drawing from 1954 still exists and is reproduced here.

Over the intervening years, Peter had the dream to recut a Devizes horse. The coming of the year 2000 provided the impetus and the Devizes Millennium White Horse.
