This file was created by a family tree program. My apologies for it generating errors in both grammar and fact! For example, for Edmund Mottershead of the first generation, the file says, 'He had one child'. This is not entirely true for he may well have had more children that I don't know about.
Speculation
The first three generations listed are people known to have existed. I have no proof that the three Edmund Mottersheads were grandfather, father and son. I would welcome hearing from anybody who can prove the link.
More
seriously, I cannot prove that Maria Mottershead of the 6th
generation is the same Maria born to Robert Mottershead of the
5th generation. The evidence of a birth in the correct year and correct location
is not enough for 100% certainty. Again, I'd be delighted to hear from anybody
who can close that gap for me.
